Alhamdulillah, we have recently acquired a shophouse located not far from our current office. It is situated at 22 Kandahar Street, strategically adjacent to Sultan Mosque and opposite the proposed Malay Cultural Centre (Taman Warisan).

It is sited in the Kampong Glam conservation parcel. Hence, its reconstruction has to meet the stringent requirements of the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and the Fire Safety & Shelter Bureau (FSSB).

The shophouse is currently being restored and renovated. Work began sometime in October 2001. The architect for the project is Zahidi A.R. Arkitek and the main contractor is Nan Guan Construction; their recent collaboration was the rebuilding of Masjid Mydin.

When completed approximately in June 2002, the shophouse will be the focal point of the umrah and haj operations. It will also house the offices of the senior management of the company. Thereafter the administration and operations of HALIJAH Travel will be streamlined.

The current office at #02-46, Golden Landmark will focus on tours and ticketing. It will, however, continue to service the needs of umrah and haj clients until our clients are more familiar with the new office.

Data and information collated will be real-time as the data servers of the two offices are linked via a leased line. The main telephone number for the two offices will remain the same - 6294 9676.

We hope that with the addition of this shophouse, we will be able to further improve our services to our valued clients.
